Jü & Kjetil Møster
Hungary, Norway
Ádám Mészáros, guitar; Ernő Hock, bass; András Halmos, drums; Kjetil Møster, reeds
Worlds collided last year when the Hungarian underground power trio Jü was joined by Norwegian jazz saxophonist for a project on the Rare Noise Records, a powerful manifesto of ecstatic, exploratory, envelope-pushing music mixed by Bill Laswell. A meeting of minds caused a blast comparable only to Laswell’s late, legendary Last Exit. Jü meets Møster bridges the gap between free jazz and hellacious, distortion-laced, guitar-driven hardcore rock. Jü found an ideal partner in Møster, a recording artist in his own right who has been a prominent part of both Norwegian jazz (e.g. The Core, Zanussi 5) and electronic-rock scenes (e.g. Datarock, Röykskopp).
