Thursday’s third gig navigated a much stormier and highly idiosyncratic terrain. Engaging in an improvised, extemporaneous dialogue, as well as rough and emotional abstraction, the charismatic Mats Gustafsson on saxophones and virtuosic pianist Craig Taborn tore asunder both the enraptured audiences and the CD Club roof. Thank heavens that the evening was coming to an end.
