Alongside Nils Frahm, Olafur Arnalds and other protégés of the Erased Tapes Records, the sensational Lubomyr Melnyk’s innovative pianism has been setting free the piano, finding affinities with pop and enthralling young generations of musicians and audiences alike. Breaking new ground, the classically trained Ukrainian pianist and innovator has charted new musical territories. Influenced by the pared-down style of minimalism from the early 1970s, Melnyk developed an original piano technique, Continuous Music, which is akin to water – flowing and ever connected. Lubomyr is returning to Ljubljana with his new album, Ilirion.
