This is what we call a supergroup. Four masters of their instruments led by a prodigious drummer, Nasheet Waits, will showcase the leader’s compositions and unique vision of what jazz music is today. The music they play is a modern hard bop jazz with great sense of contemporaneity but deep respect for the past. Waits’ deeply challenging rhythm playing possibly makes him the most sought-after drummer in the USA. (pc)
