On Saturday, 17 November, before the screening of Winter Flies by Olmo Omerzu, this year’s award-winners were announced at the 29th Liffe awards ceremony.
Kingfisher, the main festival award presented by the main festival sponsor, Telekom Slovenije, went to Woman at War by Benedikt Erlingsson. The film will also screen at Cankarjev dom on New Year’s Eve; this is your big chance if you’ve missed it at Liffe. The international jury also presented two Special Mentions, i.e. My Last Year as a Loser by Urša Menart and The Load by Ognjen Glavonić.

The International Film Critics Federation presented the FIPRESCI Prize to Styx by Wolfgang Fischer, the Kinotrip Young Jury Award went to The Rider by Chloé Zhao, and the Dragon Audience Award to Aga by Milko Lazarov. The Best Short Film Award went to Matria by Alvaro Gago Díaz, and Special Mention to The Box by Dušan Kastelic.

Each year Liffe award-winning films screen again on Monday; at 18.00 the Dragon Audience Award winner - Aga, and at 20.00 the Kingfisher award-winning Woman at War.
