The “Young Researchers” programme has taken place since 2018 within the context of Jazz Cerkno under the artistic direction of Dré Hočevar. After receiving its premiere at Cerkno (the 2020 festival has been postponed), it goes on to guest at several other festivals. Based in Berlin, the leader of this year’s featured ensemble, Tobija Hudnik, is currently completing his studies at the local Jazz Institute. At the helm of different projects (unidad.salgan, Eqilibrium as insta_bility, Blumomat), his credentials include work with Volker Schlott, Anton Feinig or Klemens Marktl. Hudnik will present a project “about a change”, which he describes as “a performance for sound, movement and light”.
