Limousine

France

French New Wave Musical Treat

Laurent Bardainne, saxophone, keyboards; Fredéric Soulard, keyboards; Maxime Delpierre, el. guitar; David Aknin, drums

Paying no undue attention to music genres, Limousine, a typical offshoot of the new French music wave, have been honing their artistic idiom from one project and one album to the next to the great delight of music buffs. The band’s exploration of Thai music has left a deep mark on their recent album, Siam Roads, yielding an inimitable and variegated music that creates a mesmerising atmosphere. Limousine share mastery of composition with the Australian band The Necks, with the distinct difference of fragmentary storyline. There’s a band to fall in love with at first sound.

“Limousine mixes elements of space rock and jazz, and combines electrical, electronic and acoustic sounds with proficiency and talent.” Le Monde
