De Beren Gieren are one of the exponents of the vibrant Belgian jazz scene that is continually fuelled by young blood. These fresh new bands keep taking the world’s major jazz stages by storm. The number of concerts this impulsive trio with a characteristic sound and a distinguishing stage presence has given this year is hugely impressive. In front of the modern piano jazz trio, Susana Santos Silva will undoubtedly transcend the limits of her sound spectrum, exploring the large space this well-versed trio skilfully creates. The Ljubljana concert as well as its subsequent recording will be another high point of this new collaboration, an inspiration that no one will want to miss. Melodic and exploring, composition boosted by improvisation.
