The sublime combination of percussion and piano reaches its fullest expression in the featured duo in which the forces of an outstanding pianist, Agustí Fernández (among others member of the Aurora Trio), are joined with versatile percussionist, Zlatko Kaučič. It was with two pianists, Stefano Battaglia (December Soul) and Claudio Cojaniz (Dreiländer Trio), that Zlatko recorded a couple of his most recent, truly remarkable albums. Kaučič and Fernández, who possess some distinctive common characteristics – subtle improvisation and open, airy melodies, released Sonic Party, a live recording of the JazzLent gig, under a notable Polish label, Not Two Records. The Ljubljana appearance will see the two masters playing improvised music, one created freely and in the moment, giving a concert of “other sounds and stories” (Kaučič).
