Moustache and a Cup of Coffee, 15. 11. 2014

Yesterday, Cankarjev dom and the Ljubljana International Film Festival had the pleasure of hosting also the youngest audiences, who were invited to attend the Moustache and a Cup of Coffee workshop within the scope of Liffe for Children (and Parents) programme. Ana Križnar offered the young film buffs a guided tour of Slovenia’s largest cultural centre and gave them a lot of biographical information about Ivan Cankar. The children saw the author’s death mask situated in the lobby of the Gallus Hall and – one of Cankar’s whiskers. While making the mask one of his whiskers got caught in the plaster mould and has been immortalised in the mask. After having told the children about Cankar’s life, Križnar spoke about Cankarjev dom. Thus, many a secret was revealed, among others also that the halls of Cankarjev dom have been designed following the arrangement of the colours of the Slovenian flag – Gallus Hall is white, Štih Hall blue, and Linhart Hall red. There ensued a tour of the Gallus Hall and an art workshop during which the children drew their vision of Imagination as a person.
