The third day of the Ljubljana Jazz Festival started in mid afternoon with one of the week’s most intensive gigs – the French En Corps trio weaved a challenging, extremely idiosyncratic music, whose light and barely audible notes were just as thunderous as the deep groans of the double bass, and silence as emotional as the piano clusters in minor key. Romantic modernism, daring and tender.
