The trailblazing Akinmusire, a leading trumpeter of his generation, made his Slovenian debut in a project with Kristijan Krajnčan at the 2009 Jazz Festival Ljubljana; displaying his musical prowess, Akinmusure’s accomplishments have since won him widespread public praise. His double disc on Blue Note Records – recorded over the course of four nights at the legendary Village Vanguard – is both a snapshot of his quartet’s last three years on the road, as well as glimpse into their future musical directions.
