A duo bringing together Croatian pianist and vocalist Sara Ester Gerdelj and Slovenian drummer Nina Korošak Serčič, Freekind follow their own creative philosophy “be free, be kind”. The duo’s name – a compound of the words "free" and "kind" – provides a reply to the question of “what kind of people they would like to live with”. The musicians met while studying jazz in Graz, Austria, and the sound they create is a special brand of neo soul, a sensual music with strong messages and references to R’n’B, soul, hip-hop and jazz. Their idols are Noname, D'Angelo and Common. They set out on their joint musical career in 2019 with the release of their first song, I'm Going to Live, and in June 2021 they released an EP not good enough.  In Slovenia, the duo was featured as part of the Val 202 radio concert ("They are exceptional," said presenter Andrej Karoli when first introducing them) and at the MENT Festival, and internationally at the Waves Vienna festival and the Zagreb online portal Jazz.hr.
