Goran Vojnović

is a film director, writer and columnist. He has directed two feature films Piran Pirano and Čefurji raus!. The latter was based on his novel, published in 2008. In 2009, the book received the Kresnik Award for best novel and the Prešeren Fund Award. A selection of his columns was published under the title Ko Jimmy Choo sreča Fidela Castra. In 2012 he published his second novel, Jugoslavija, moja dežela, and again received the Kresnik Award. Vojnović is also the author of a successful theatre play, Tak si.



Jelka Stergel

Jelka Stergel has been present in the world of film (making) for many years. She was the initiator of the Ljubljana International Film Festival and then its director of 16 years. In 1998 she also founded the Documentary Film Festival. Jelka Stergel was the President of the Supervisory Board of the Slovenian Film Fund, the director of the 10th Festival of Slovenian Film, and a jury-member at several other film festivals. She is the Head of Marketing for the Slovenian Film Centre and the Programme Director at the Festival of European and Mediterranean Film in Piran. She is also the Slovenian representative in the Management Board of Eurimages.



Majid Hussain

Majid Hussain fled from Nigeria to Libya in 2009 due to religious conflicts. He was still a minor at the time. In 2011, when conflict broke out in Libya, he undertook a perilous journey over the Mediterranean Sea to Europe. He lives in Rome now, works in a refugee centre and is an active human rights defender. With his experience and attitude, he is an inspiration for numerous Amnesty International activists.
