A project bringing together two new-fledged Slovenian bands, MTF feat. Sub-Lime synthesises highly diverse musical forms: jazz, hip-hop and flamenco. Creating a particularly compelling rhythmic (and visual) texture, beatboxer Murat and dancer Urška Centa have an equal role in weaving a grid of vibrantly interlocking rhythms. Already incorporating a variety of music and dance tendencies, MTF has further diversified its eclectic expressiveness in ‘affiliating’ Sub-Lime, a group of younger Slovenian jazz musicians. The two bands’ first collaborative venture was the joint concert at the summer Beer and Flowers Festival in Laško. A highly original mixture of sound, rhythm and movement, the collective’s idiosyncratic music & dance performance generates “a contemporary fusion explosion.”
