When seeing … and cannot reach the silence, a work by the Rdeča raketa duo (Eng.; Red Rocket, after a poem by Srečko Kosovel) and video artists Patrick K.-H. and Ivan Marušić Klif that blends music and visual art, at last year’s Jazzfestival Saalfelden, we could not stop staring at the wall that had just experienced the most beautiful moments of its existence. And similar feelings were shared by all attendees; we continued our festival exploration with joy in our hearts, filled with admiration for outstanding art. Rdeča raketa are sound scientists and electro-acoustic researchers who don't indulge in abstractions, and instead sound refreshingly alive. The result is acoustic poetry that sometimes breaks from musicality in order to create sound paintings that turn listening habits and contemporary cultural codes upside down—in cinemas and concert halls, theatres and installations. At JFL, this manifestation will take place on the Republic Square platform, a customary outdoor venue of the Svetlobna gverila Festival (Lighting Guerrilla) that will continue to breathe life into the empty space before and after this event.
